Are you ruining your business with your posts and emails?

Are you ruining your business with your network posts and emails?

I started observing how people react to different ways of communication in the business and social networks. I started to think about how I react to others emails, what emotions do they invoke in me. And more often then not I do not click on the emails and I pay little attention to the post that look like spam.

One of the most important things is to me is how I come across to a potential customer. I certainly do not want to invoke emotions of frustration, boredom, detachment, dis-belief, uncertainty, impatience……….

And that is what “SPAM” makes people feel like:

*Your tired of getting it
*Your detached from even reading it
*You consider it’s content to probably be false
*You mark it as junk so you don’t even have to bee interrupted by it’s presence….

This is not what I wanted to come across like. I really believe in my product/service. I know the benefit of it and I feel good about it, I want other people to know, not so I can just sell them, that isn’t it at all. We put alot of hard work, alot of tears were cried, all lot of sleepless nights, alot of stress, alot of emotions, that eventually took a creation of their own, as it all came together, which lead to that moment. At the same time this business, which consumed my family and put my very understanding kids life in new dynamics for almost two years was meant for a purpose of financial freedom, freedom to spend with those beautiful children who so deserved it just for existing!

I realized I was not coming across to people the way I wanted to. So I quit, I went back onto my networks sites, changed my profiles, and rewrote all of the previous members that just received my previous advertisement for my business. And I INTRODUCED my self and wished them all a great weekend, and I read about them and what they did. It took hours, but I really think this personal way is worth it in the long run. As I write this days later, I am getting ready to get back on every one of the networks (and trust me there are alot, I have been building them for months) and write them all again.

In the growth of the business, me and my husband sold our services going door to door. And my favorite part of that experience was getting to know the people, talking with them. We would spend hours (No lie, once we spent four hours talking to a soon to be customer). Because we got to know them. We would talk about everything. My husband and I are both very sociable.

when I started to focus on On-line sells, the diversity and vast amounts of selections blinded me to what was important.

I got caught up in trying to hit it all at once. I was not focused on what I enjoy about the process, what I am attracted to in others. When someone writes me a personal letter or sends a personal reply and doesn’t send me an add (well i don’t mind the brief sentence at the bottom), I usually always click on their author link or website link! Always, because I want to.

I learned an important lesson about online networking for business. I remembered that they are PEOPLE. I also remembered that  the convenience of the Internet can become an inconvenience. :)

Sincerely,
