Backlinks

A backlink is when your website link is pointing from another site. Simply it means having your sites link such as www.yoursite.com on another persons site. Backlinks are also referred to as Inbound Links. The number of backlinks on a website shows the importance of the site, or the popularity of it. Noe way to generate backlinks is to have useful content. Then other site owner will refer to your content, usually providing a link for visitors to follow.   Backlinks  allow  visitors of another website, of your profile on another site like a directory, an article, a photo………. to click on it and thus bringing you traffic and potential clients or customers.

If you write articles, and are given the option of an Authors resource box, add two links, one to your main website and that is deeper in the website and important enough to mention. This deep link can be to anywhere on your site that you want your visitors to view, but may get over looked if the visitors do not go very deep into your website. For instance my site, which deals with websites, I add a Deep Link of my features page. Most article directories and sites allow for you to add two, so do.

Google uses backlinks as one of their resources in determining page ranking. Google also looks at the PR of the site you are linking from. So you want to link to sites that have a high PR, a 4 or over. The higher the PR of the site that you are linked to the higher PR you will get. So do a little research, spend a little time, and pick quality over quantity.

Backlinks are only a small part of Googles process, but it is a part of the whole, so don’t skip doing it if you are trying to Search Engine Optimize your website. It takes a little time to fully Search Engine Optimize your Website and to see the results, but it will happen if you do the work.

I would suggest making a categories sheet of what you need to do, including adding quality backlinks and focus one one thing at a time. One week back links,, the next submit to directories, add content, add pages……. and so on!
