Blogging for your Business
Blogging is a creative way to have a personal on- line presence. You can share photos, stories, news, music, drawings, videos, topics and such other related areas of interest. There are many sites that are available to get free blogging services, and for the most part blogging is quite simple and those who do it really enjoy it. Blogging is a great way to also keep in touch with family and friends. Letting viewers capture the moments of the bloggers life as posts are added. One is able to choose from a number of different templates, enabling the customization of their blog.
Blogging can be done for just about anything: music, politics, education, animals, self, books, a specific book, a certain type of food or a recipe. The can be about travel, dreams of traveling, plants, birds, fishing, fashion, bands, dreams, wall paper. You name it, you can blog about it.
Blogging goes back to the early stages of the web. But it has grown strong in the last couple years as becoming a very popular online tool.
Creating a blog can become a great hobby and in many cases a great job.
Using blogs for your business might be a great tool for a few reasons. First you are adding new content and pages to your site, keeping it active and the search engines happy. If you have read any of my other articles you know that new content, new pages are a must when climbing the page rank ladder. You can blog about any topic or product related to your business, giving you a number of options for new pages.
Second and in my perspective more important then first in regards to your business, you become real to online visitors. You show that you are a person attached to your business website and if you write your content well, you can show you have authority in your business over your services or products. Which is exactly what the visitors are looking for, someone to trust and who knows about what they are interested in.
I do not suggest writing allot of personal information in relations to a businesses blog but don't be to impersonal either. There is a grey area where you can keep your authority of the owner and still let visitors know your personality. If you are a funny person don't leave that out of your blogs, but tread lightly on what you consider funny compared to what an online viewer is going to consider funny. If you are a happy person, again include this in your posts, show your emotion with smiley faces, words that describe your personality…..
There are many ways to let your personality come through your posts and sharing some personal information is great, such as why you chose your profession or related stories you have that link to your services or products. But I do caution what you write, do not seem negative, never put down an old client/customer, do not air dirty laundry. Keep your posts informative with one main purpose in mind, to share information concerning your business, products or services!
As a writer, i know how easy it can be to "get on a roll", and just pour it all out, and it is a very healing thing to do. So with that said, here is the most important step in writing blogs for your business!
REREAD! Reread what you have wrote, and take out anything thing that does not need to be included. Blog posts don't need to be long, so if you found you wrote half of your content about things that are not relevant or worse yet unprofessional, simply delete it and post the rest, it is that easy!
Blogging has become an epidemic in the Internet world, and with due reason, we are in an era in which is referred to as the information age, and everyone has something important to share! And there are an endless number of topics to share about! Business and your services or products are included in these topics! So share!
