Do Keywords Matter?
There has always been alot of buzz around the use of keywords and what keywords to use.
If you look at the page source of the top ranked websites, (you can view the page source by clicking on the View tab in your tool bar. At the very top of your screen you see * File Edit View History Bookmarks Tools Help….* you will see the option Page Source, or if you are good with short cuts, simply hold the ctrl key and the U key at the same time. *Once you are in the page source do a search for “Meta” or “keywords”….
It is apparent that many of the top ranked sites no longer have keywords.
It seems that Google and Yahoo and Bing! no longer find keywords relevant. The mis-use of keywords in the past and the ever advancing technology probably have a great deal to do with this fact.
So what does matter?
Well here are a few of the still important factors in relation to SEO:
*Content! Relevant content is very important!
*Title Tags
*Description Tags
*Outbound Links
*Inbound Links
There have always been those companies that claimed to get you “To the top of the search rankings”. And I will give them credit, this is not a false statement.
It is though a very misleading statement!
Because, most of these companies did not disclose to you that you would be at the top of the page rankings for your NAME!!! And it just so happens that of course you are going to be at the top of the rankings for a given, unique name.
What you want to be at the top of the rankings for is the search terms that are associated with your business and services.
This is just a heads up that keywords, keyword relevancy and keyword ratio are not huge factors in getting to the top of the searches!
So beware of those companies that will still try to play on the ignorance of others. Or those companies that are still ignorant themselves.
Educate yourself with a quick search and a couple of hours of reading. It could potentially save you thousands of dollars and unneeded distress.

Keywords have been a major focus for Search Rankings. Thought to be a major tool in the SECRET to top rankings.
My advice, besides reading the posts supplied in the link above, spend little time on it, and much more time on content, traffic, links, articles, word of mouth, branding!!!
