How to Network Online.

The first thing I would suggest for you to do, is focus on what image you are going to use as your Profile Picture. If you have a Logo great, I would suggest you use that. You want to remember that networking online is a great way for you to Brand your company into the minds of many if you do it right. If you don’t have a logo, get one, do a search for “Free Logo Maker” “affordable logos” or “How to Make a Logo”.

There are a number of great sites. Spend a little time a make a logo. If you feel lost on how to make a logo, take a breath, the process is actually simple. Most of these sites you will find will have pre-made logos for you to chose from or alter. Just pick one you like, change the color if optional and wanted, and then save the image to your desktop. So it can be easily accessed while you go through the Online Networking Profile Creating Process.

Next do a Targeted search for your company or service. For instance if you are a business do a search for “business networking sites” “Business Directories” “networking online”. If you are in a Band target your search for “Music Communities, “Social Sites for Bands”…….Once you have targeted where to start, begin…..I suggest as you join a site, community, group… to make sure you do these following things….

**Add Your Logo as your Profile Picture and/or Avatar
** Have a description for your services/company already written out and saved in notepad on your  desktop.
**Make sure you add your Website Link
**Post a Blog to Introduce yourself….not your business…. just tell a little (a paragraph or so about you) and then add your Name /Position or Title/ and a link to your website (doing this by adding http://yourwebsite .com)
** Go through the members and send 10 friend requests
** Go to the Groups and Join at 3 to 6 groups, in these groups. Post on the Wall a Quick Hello, and end with your
Name/Position or Title/Link to your site.
** Bookmark the site, placing in a folder called NETWORKING And move on to the next one, following the steps above for each.

Do not rush the process, you don’t want to be considered as spam by the administrators or the people in which you are networking with. Once you do this, for as many sites as you can. This may take a day or two or three. It takes a little while to set up all the profiles. But once you have, you now have access to a data base of potential clients/customers/traffic.

Now

you must have content to share. Write something about your company/service. Keep it short and if you can break it up into categories so you have more articles/posts you can publish, try to stay away from sounding too commercial, and actually share information that can benefit someone else. I suggest in note pad writing two or three articles/posts first. Save them to your desk top as well. (You might want to add a folder to your desk top called NETWORKING and add your logo and Introduction, and articles/posts/blogs to it), and then go back into your book marks and go back to all of the networking sites you have joined.

Now,

**Share/Publish your posts/blogs/articles
** Find 10 more random People and send friend requests
** Join 2 more groups
** Add to your wall that you have added new posts, closing with your Name/Position or Title/ linke to your website.
** Approve any friend Requests
** Go to your “Friends and leave a comment on there site, wish them a nice day, or telling them it is a pleasure to meet them, do not advertise your business/service!!! Do not add a link to your website. Close only with your NAME!

** Go to the forums and look for the place in which you can introduce yourself and introduce your company, make sure to leave a link if you are able! Go one to the rest of your Networking site and do the same steps above.

Now,

once you have done that… which has probably took another couple of days… write another article/post/blog…Also write a short description of your services…  
EXAMPLE: Have a Dog, Need Food? http://yourwebsite .com

Now,

**Share/Publish your posts/blogs/articles
** Find 10 more random People and send friend requests
** Join 2 more groups
** Add to your wall that you have added new posts, closing with your Name/Position or Title/ Link to your website.
** Approve any friend Requests
** Go to your “Friends and leave your short description of your business that you wrote out as your comment, AND this time close with your Name/Position or Title/Link to website
** Go to the forums and see if you can help at least one person!
**Repeat for all your Networking sites.

If you do not have alot of Networking sites, then take the time to find more, join and add them to your bookmark folder to become part of your routine. The key to networking is to post your link as many times as you can, but not to do it in a way that is SPAM. That is why you only post to a few people and add a few people a time. You also want the audience/potential clients/customers to actually drive traffic and sales to your site. That is the reason for the relevant and useful content that you post!

Don’t make it a social affair. Simply follow the steps above…. add friends, post blogs, post your link……I do suggest adding the articles/blogs/posts to your website. and on and social networking sites that you can add your feed, (put your link in the add feed).There are alot of  benefits form using Networking Sites. The Key is to do it in a way that Benefits your growth and does not Hinder it.
